Ghanaian movie maker and CEO of KOFAS Media Kofi Asamoah who is popularly known as KOFAS has emphatically said movie makers are in hard times because of Covid19.
On Zylofon FM’s Showbiz Agenda with Sammy Flex, he said because Covid 19 is still with us, there is no cinema operating now in Ghana disturbing the movie business. “There is no where to premier your movies after production so why bother yourself with producing a movie” Kofi added.
“But some of your colleagues are still producing and uploading it online, so why don’t you do same” Sammy Flex asked.
Again, Kofi Asamoah made a funny statement like “those producing movies and uploading it online gain nothing because movie consumers in Ghana are always crying over how “Telcos” deduct their data in a short period of time. They like it free on television. I wonder the kind of profits they claim they are making. We are watching so if we confirm that they are making money, we will also do same” he added.
Kofi Asamoah noted that, the online movie platforms are even suffering so he won’t waste money in producing any movie in this Covid 19 pandemic era, unless an investor/distributor approaches him with a juicy deal.
