Goodies Music Boss Shares What He Hates About Musicians In Ghana

Chief Executive Officer of Goodies Music International Isaac Abeiku Aidoo has said that though he sometimes regret not recouping every money he invested in his music business, he has so much love for the business but the only thing he doesn’t like is artiste who appear late for interviews or events.

“I have liked music since childhood. And I really appreciate the efforts musicians put in their work. Sometimes I listen to them and I cry, i get very emotional. I have so much love and passion for music business but the only thing I don’t like in working with artistes is, talents who make late for interviews. I don’t like people who are late to events because i am time conscious. Those days when my artiste is late, I leave them behind. You have to get your own transport to wherever we going to later. I was trained by whites so I don’t play with my time. I am very principled and very serious with work” he told Sammy Flex on Showbiz Agenda on Zylofon 102.1 FM.

According to him, there’s money in Ghana but good structures must be put in place for players to recoup monies they invest.

“Sometimes the money you invest in music you can’t recoup it. So you think about it sometimes. You make hits alright but you don’t get the money you are supposed to make. Sometimes you regret seriously. We wasted some monies we could have invested in other businesses in music and couldn’t recoup it. The industry needs proper structures. I must tell you. Right now, I am not scared of losses because experience counts a lot” he said.

He disclosed that back then, they were not making much money in live performances but fortunately things have changed now. “The charges are much better. First, we were only making money from cassettes and CD sales. Till date, GHAMRO still pays me some royalties from the artistes I produced even though it is not much. The highest I have received is Ghc1600. This is why we have registered our label internationally because the system is much better there” he noted.

He revealed that he has been honored by so many award schemes including Ghana Music Awards.

“Currently, Goodies Music is managing Mzbel, Pat Thomas together with Mount Records and we are currently promoting “Time Will Tell” and “Sika” which features Fameye and Kuami Eugene respectively”. He hinted that perhaps after two to three months, the label will work on Pat Thomas featuring Sarkodie and then Pat Thomas featuring Kofi Kinaata. “This is like daddy and nephews album. He is going to work with all the young artistes. The coming album is really big” he hinted.
