“Kuami Eugene’s Award is Corporate, Mine is For The Ghetto”- Ras Kuuku
Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year Ras Kuuku has responded to critics over claims that he is over-celebrating his victory at the just ended VGMAs. The renowned reggae-dancehall musician claims that Kuami Eugene won Artiste Of The Year for the corporate people but his Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year is for the ghetto and has to be celebrated as such.
Since his win, Ras Kuuku has been moving from door-to-door with his plaque always by his side and taking photos with people he visits.
Some social media users are of the view that the award perhaps came his way because the actual winners (Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale) had been disqualified.
But the artiste said he is not going to stop touring the streets and the ghettos but going to continue till every ghetto youth sees it. He refuted claims that the plaque is stolen saying it is still in his armpit and not missing.
