Court Orders That Funny Face Be Taken To Psychiatric Hospital For Two Weeks

Few hours after comedian Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, known publicly as Funny Face posted a video of himself and some Police officers in a car going to court, an Accra court has ordered that the comedian be taken to the psychiatric hospital for two weeks.

The Ofaakor Circuit Court presided by Ebenezer Osei Darko explained that Funny Face does not sound normal. The judge said Funny Face may be having a mental crisis and possibly going through depression and ordered Ghana Police to send him to Accra Psychiatric Hospital.

According to reports from the court, Funny Face first pleaded guilty to unlawfully discharging a firearm in a public place.

However, the judged noticed some mixed up in Funny Face’s account of events hence asked the actor if he was sound of mind.

Funny Face responded alleging that the slaps he had taken during his arrest by the police affected him, so he has some challenges mentally.

The judge then asked the police to take him to the hospital and seize his gun. He also ruled that Funny Face should be allowed to drive for the next two weeks.

Background:

It could be recalled that Funny Face was arrested by the police in Kasoa last week Monday for unlawfully discharging a firearm at a drinking pub.

The Central Regional Police PRO, DSP Irene Serwaa Oppong said someone had reported Funny Face for causing a disturbance in a bar.

She stated that their investigations reveal the actor, born Benson Oduro Boateng, had gone to the bar where a misunderstanding ensued between him and the owner.

Although the two were separated, Funny Face went home, returned with a gun and fired warning shots.
