“My Exit From Stonebwoy’s Camp Made Me Richer And Famous” – Kelvyn Boy

Ghanaian Afrobeat singer Kelvyn Boy has disclosed he got more richer and famous when he parted ways with Burniton Music Group, headed by multiple award winning reggae/dancehall artiste Stonebwoy.

Contrary to reports that his issues with his former label boss Stonebwoy affected him negatively, musician Kelvyn Boy says it rather catapulted his career and gave him more eyeballs — He spoke with Doreen Avio.

“When I parted ways with Burniton Music, it didn’t affect my music but maybe how people think about me. When that thing happened was when I blew up. It was when I got money, when I saw money. Is was when people wanted to see me. When that thing happened till now, that made me Kelvin Boy. Haven’t you realized?” he queried.

He explained: “I think it affected me positively but maybe in their minds, because people will always get the wrong people perception of people. Keep that perception, I’m cool. In Ghana, artistes worry about what people are going to do, what people are going to say, people are going to think a lot and it weighs us down”.

He added: “Every day they compare the Nigerian artistes to us but you see when you watch their character and all, we are even good but you see the Nigerians don’t go for the character, they go for the music. So no matter what, maybe this person has decided to paint me white or black, that’s what he has decided to do”.
