Obibini Takyi Jnr Talks About Father’s Legacy & Latest Single
Son of one of Ghana’s most celebrated High-life music legends the late Obibini Takyi of ‘Akosombo Nkanea’ fame Obibini Takyi Jnr, has talked about his father’s legacy and other coming projects from his label. He has also warned music people to stay away from his father`s songs or seek permission if they want to use them.
The Afropop-highlife artiste appearing on Showbiz Daily on Sammy Flex TV last Tuesday night with the aim of promoting his latest single ‘Aputↄↄ’ with Fameye says coming from a musical family, he has always been passionate about producing good songs like his father did. “I want to continue my father’s legacy. That legacy will never die because I am keeping it alive” he said.
Obibini Takyi Junior is currently signed on to First Klass Music. This is a record label under First Klass Shipping Company Limited, a door-to-door shipping company from the UK to Ghana owned by a young enterprising Ghanaian Ashanti Businessman, Michael Obeng with their head quarters in London.
Obibini Takyi Jnr has also worked with talented artistes on a number of hit songs such as “Powder” featuring Luther, kofi kinaata and Zack Gh on “Yebeboso”
The beat maker and sound engineer on his new project ‘Aputↄↄ’ decided to work with the evergreen ‘Highly Spiritual’ engineer Kaywa.
‘Aputↄↄ’ is a love story about how a man was used and jilted by his lover some years back where the same lover returned seeking a reunion but that could not work out.
