“BET`s & Grammy Awards Do Not Determine A Successful Musical Career” – Socrate Sarfo

Ghanaian movie producer and entertainment analyst Socrate Sarfo has said that BET & Grammy awards do not determine a successful musical career of an artiste, so he does not see the reason they stress too much to be on such platforms.

On Peace FM’s Entertainment Review with Akwasi Aboagye, he noted that it’s unnecessary for Ghanaian artistes to focus too much on BET/Grammy awards.

According to him, instead of our Ghanaian artistes chasing links to get much recognition and climbing big stages, they are rather chasing awards. “Bob Marley never won a Grammy but he was successful musically” he advised

“Do you know artistes who haven’t won BET and Grammys but their works are accepted all over the world? For your information, BET and Grammys are not the yardstick for perfection or being the best. No! Your works can be accepted if you have the right channels to enter any market. That is what you should crave for. Ghanaian artistes, stop chasing BET and Grammys,” he stated.

“Showbiz is all about links, the one who can connect you to the right people. In showbiz, links play 90% of it. It’s about who you know and who knows you,” he concluded.
