Selina Boateng Denies Leaving Cebex Music: Positions Joe Mettle As Ghana`s Number One
One of Ghana’s sensational gospel artistes Selina Boateng has added her voice to the recent debate in the gospel music industry with regards to who reigns in the gospel space.
Speaking to Sammy Flex on Showbiz Agenda on Zylofon 102.1 FM, Selina said Joe Mettle currently stands tall in the gospel music industry and for that matter deserves everyone`s support and acknowledgement.
“We are all doing our best. We are all in our lane working hard to get international recognition but truth is one, you can’t hide the truth. Joe Mettle is doing better. So we need to push him. We will also get there. But the one putting in much effort, you need to support him to get there. He is recognized on all the international platforms. He was on Donnie McClurkin’s show and some other few international shows. So he is doing well. Patience Nyarko was right but how she went about it was the problem. I have not met her yet but if I meet her, I will talk to her about it” she stated.
Sammy Flex further asked about her current relationship with her record label Cebex Music and this was what the singer had to say: “I have not left cebex music. He is just not available. He is currently busy at Amsterdam but he is aware of everything I am doing. His name is not in my videos now but he is supporting me with advice and everything that will make the work happen. I even spoke with him yesterday. Cebex has not stopped production but he is just busy at the moment. He recently announced Melody Frimpong but has left her for abroad. Everything is fine with us” she revealed.
Selina further revealed that she has missed performing to a large crowd and that really disturbs her as an artiste.
“In the last six months, it has always been virtual concerts. It really disturbs me. I am always excited when I see the crowd. So during my ministration on Gifty Anti`s virtual concert, I shouted put your hands up. I forgot there were no crowd” she said laughing.
She added: “29th August is my birthday so I want to celebrate it together with some up and coming gospel ministers on Maranatha TV. We are all set and it`s happening live at Maranatha TV. It is dubbed “The Throne Room Experience”. I have so much passion for up and coming artistes that is why I billed artists like Emily Gyan, Pastor Bennywood and Jackson Quaye. I have a lot of them but we will start with these three. I also have a new single out titled “Yesu Mogya”.
