“I Can’t Sing For Women And Flirt With Trees” – Dada KD

High life musician Dada KD has refuted claims that every love singer is a womanizer but quickly added that there’s nothing wrong once he is not chasing after people’s wives since he cannot sing for women and go for trees.

When asked if most of his songs are love songs because he is a womanizer, Dada KD responded: “That’s their opinion. In the music arena, as humans you should know what you want and where you are going. Back in the days we were releasing albums, before we were doing eight songs on an album, but right from the beginning somewhere in 1994 honey love started with love songs. And in Ghana, assuming I started my music career with my gospel song, they would have said I am a gospel artiste. So that is Ghanaians for you. Anywhere they put you, just accept it and focus. I always call myself a Ghanaian singer, a musician and it ends there. Because at any point in time, I can sing about anything once I have the message. So if they say I am a highlife artiste, I accept it. I remember my tribute song for the late Kofi B, someone told me it sounds like a love song. So they have tuned their mind to that” Dada KD revealed.

The singer who was a guest on Showbiz Agenda with Sammy Flex on Zylofon 102.1 FM explained: “So people branding me as a love songs singer, and as I sit here should I go for trees? I can`t sing for women and go for trees. From creation, women are very powerful to the extent that you can’t even sing against them. Let any musician try it and see what will become of his career. You will not last. Singing love songs doesn’t make me love by nature but once i sing love songs, I might fall for some. So I make out with some, others also make out with me and that is no crime. And I don’t chase people’s wives. So there’s nothing wrong flirting with women as a musician”.

He also touched on the recent debate on playing Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy`s songs at the VGMAs and indicated that he sees nothing wrong with that. “I don’t see anything wrong with playing banned artistes songs at VGMA. This is Ghana music awards, so if the two artistes are not part, their songs can still be played” he explained.

The high life artiste is currently out with his new single and he calls the song “Love Hurt”.
