Zylofon FM`s Blakk Rasta Out Of RTP Awards 2020

Ghanaian reggae musician and the host of Taxi Driver show on Zylofon 102.1 FM Abubakar Ahmed also known worldwide as Blakk Rasta has opted out from this year’s Radio and Television Personality (RTP) Awards saying he will no longer be part of any award system that is judged by how much your fans pay to vote for you.

According to the ‘Mallam Tonga’ hit maker, he can not be part of schemes that sell awards to the highest bidder and urge others who don’t agree with his stance to go ahead and participate.

“Just realized I have been nominated for Best Reggae Radio Show Host by the RTP Awards 2020. No, thanks. As said severally, I will NOT be part of ANY award system which is judged by how many VOTES people can PAY for. This sounds like selling to the highest bidder to me. Let others who disagree with me participate. Good luck..” Blakk Rasta wrote on his Facebook page on Monday morning.

His recent released ‘Mallam Tonga’ jam broke the internet with a challenge coming from both known and unkown people on social media, packing a hefty punch as the song trended on Twitter overnight, staying at number 1 in Ghana.
