Ghana Music needs a Sense of Direction – Pzeefire
Afrofusion Artiste David Ayuba popularly known as Pzeefire has said in an interview on See Africa Hosted By Dela on TV3 that Ghana needs to push a particular genre when it comes to Music so they can have that identity.
He added that Highlife music is a beautiful genre which when modified and pushed, could bring back a lot of revenue.
The only difference between Ghana and Nigeria Music is that even though Nigeria has a lot of genre they’re pushing you’ll always see Afrobeats being pushed more and that brings revenue and recognition. Whereas in Ghana today it’s Azonto tomorrow it’s dancehall and now Drill whiles the Highlife is pushed to the back burner.
Dancehall is very dominant here today infact the two biggest artists in Ghana today are the ones fighting over the Dancehall title, meanwhile Dancehall is for Jamaica so where is the Highlife.
Most of the Nigerian Artistes in the past Came to learn Highlife Music from Ghana to add to what we have back home, back but we don’t see Ghana projecting it today that much.
Artistes like KiDi, King Promise, Darko Vibes must be commended for modernizing and promoting Highlife. As we speak now, Mr Easy has a tape out which has Pure Highlife songs and it’s Beautiful.
Pzeefire The “Fire” and “Like So” Hitmaker is under the Ghanaian Label Speech Production and is due to release his second EP titled IN A BEAUTIFUL PLACE IABP this March which hopefully will have at least one highlife song on it.
