Ghanaian award-winning gospel musician Celestine Donkor has expressed agreement with dancehall artiste Shatta Wale on his call for authorities to pay serious attention to development of the creative industry.
Touching on Shatta Wale’s recent outburst concerning the industry on Ekwanso Dwoodwoo with Abeiku Santana, Celestine Donkor said she agrees to some of his points raised and must really be looked at.
“I agree with him on some of his points. The passion at which he speaks about the value the nation places on talents or let me say the entire entertainment industry. About our values and the role we play. We are helping in tourist attraction, one of the reasons foreigners travel into the country” she explained.
The singer further noted: “We are out there than most of our minerals. There are people who for the first time get to know about Ghana through music. I personally receive such comments on my YouTube channel. So I agree with Shatta on the tangent that government should pay much attention to our industry and solidify some of the things they have promised to do for us. If they are able to do this, it will help us a lot”.
