“Ghanaians Don’t Like Me Because I’m Confident and Strong” – Afia Schwarzenegger
Controversial Ghanaian media personality Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa popularly known as Afia Schwarzenegger has disclosed why she thinks Ghanaians hate her so much. She told Ato Kwamina and Frema Adunyame on the Upside Down show on Citi TV on Sunday evening that people hate her because she’s confident and a strong woman and that she’s not the only female celebrity suffering that fate.
According to her, Ghanaians love to worship confident and outspoken women who come from other countries but will hate you, if you’re a Ghanaian woman.
“Ghanaians adore confident women, outspoken women, strong women when she’s not from the country. Ghanaians don’t like me because I am confident and I am strong. They don’t like Nana Aba Anamoah because of same thing. They don’t like Delay because of same thing. They don’t like Lydia Forson, go and look for a husband bla bla bla because of this same reason. So who is perfect here? Who? You see they like Gifty Anti now because she’s grown now. While growing up, the stuff we use to hear about her was unprintable. You understand but thank God the only voice I hear is the voice of the Holy Spirit and myself. Me I don’t hear them” she said.
Touching on whether she will accept any political appointments, the comedian had this to say: “I will accept a political appointment. It’s just like being called to be a caretaker. That I would accept. But my late uncle left me an advice, he said I should fear delegates. So anything that has to do with electing no no no. I have never vied for any position, not even class prefect while at school. I don’t want to be at the mercy of anybody. I do not want to stress myself begging for votes. But of course, like I said earlier, full support, full weight behind NDC except of course NPP is bringing a female candidate then we can consider supporting their candidate. I’m calling on all feminist, women empowerment groups, I mean anybody that believes that a woman’s place is not only in the kitchen that, this is the time to prove it” Afia noted strongly.
