“I Always Talk About Sex With My Children” – Okyeame Kwame

Hiplife musician Okyeame Kwame has said that he always talks about sex with his children. He noted that he’d rather talk about it with them than have their friends talk with them.

Speaking on Day Break Hitz with Andy Dosty, he asserted that we should not shy away from sex, death and conflict discussions as a people because these are amazing natural phenomenon.

When asked about his recent comments over death, this is what the rapper had to say:

“Yes I like death. It is an amazing natural phenomenon. I am just not old enough or hurt enough for the life to leave out of my body but I love it. I think that our society shies away from speaking about the most important things like sex. We don’t speak about money, we don’t talk about conflict, we don’t talk about death. These are amazing phenomenon that we need to look at. And because of that we always go back to what our forefathers said about these things 3,000, 4,000, 5,000, 1,000 years ago and even though it might not be applicable in modern terms, we still hold on to it because we are too scared to talk about it”.

He further explained: “I think we need to have such discussions. Every single day I talk to my children about sex. So when they used to go to school, on that drive to their school is about 30mins and we talk about sex. They ask all sort of questions. The oldest is 11 and the younger is 9. Would you rather want their young friends tell them about sex or you want to tell them? Then tell them the truth. Because the idea is to be able to empower our children with knowledge we didn’t have when we were their age. So that they will not make the mistakes we made”.
