Ghanaian reggae and dancehall artiste who is based in the United Kingdom SonniBalli has stated that Ghanaians who live abroad don’t really know and love Ghanaian songs.
In an interview with Sammy Flex on Zylofon FM’s Showbiz Agenda, Sonni explained that Ghanaian songs are not as big as the Nigerians because we don’t give our songs the attention we give to the Nigerian songs.
“The reason our songs are not as big as the Nigerians is because we don’t give our songs the hype we give Nigerian music. Ghanaians in the diaspora don’t really know Ghanaian songs,” he revealed.
“I feel like as much as we are doing dancehall, it is necessary that we add some of our local dialect and rhythms to it so we don’t lose ourselves.
I have been making music all these while. I never stopped. I am going to consistently be feeding my fans with music. I won’t starve them anymore, he responded to issues on dancehall and whether he is back in the music game permanently” he added.
