Ponobiom`s Views On Betting & Highlife Music Out: As He Reacts To Chief Imam`s Advise On Betting

Ghanaian rapper Ponobiom has proven his versatility beyond doubts. He has tested all the waters and has indeed proven to be multi-talented vocally. He’s passed the test for dance hall, reggae, rap music, hip pop, high life, hip-life, Afro pop and he just killed another Burger High life vibe with his latest collaborative piece titled “1997” with popular producer Dr. Ray.

Speaking with Sammy Flex on Showbiz Agenda on Zylofon 102.1 FM, he refuted the perception about Ghanaian youth not jamming to highlife tunes.

“It is not true that the youth don’t like high life songs. Though we dress to show our boxers, it doesn’t mean we are bad. Nobody hates high life. When we go out and high life is being played we dance to it. So it is never true we hate high life. On this particular one, Dr. Ray produced a burger high life beat for me and I did a burger vocal lyrics to it. This is a burger high life song. Things like this should happen. Collaborations like this should happen because we should get closer and keep the connection with music producers” he noted.

“Sometimes we should do promo interviews with the producers as well so we can gel well. It shouldn’t only be about paying or booking them for recordings. Personally, I will be doing more of this with Dr. Ray” he noted as was monitored by www.sammyflextv.com.

Touching on betting, the rapper who was once a brand ambassador for Mybetafrica said, betting is good because people earn some good money from it. “Betting is nice. People win. I have tried betting before but I have never won a bet yet. Yes, I had a contract with mybetafrica but it is over. If there’s a problem or anybody has a problem with betting, then it should be between the betting company and the person. I don’t come in there. If they were selling pure water, I will be selling pure water. The deal was good but I wanted to step up my game and I felt I couldn’t do more. I even gave the money to my wife so if you want to know the details, you need to call her” Ponobiom explained.

Pono was on the show to promote his new single titled “1997” which is produced by Dr. Ray. The single is part of his 20 track album that will be ready for market soon.
