Yvonne Nelson Starts Save Atewa Forest Campaign, Calls On President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo & Others
Actress Yvonne Nelson has started another campaign calling on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo And Arocha Ghana to help save the Atewa Forest from bad mining practices.
According to the actress in series of tweets, Atewa Forest has just 18% of low grade bauxite and the country must secure it with green bonds and not destroy it.
Though the actress is seen mentioning handles of some media platforms and other international bodies, the response and the buzz around this campaign has been calm as compared to her previous ‘Dumsor Vigil’ campaign four years ago.
“Two daring things I’ve done this year, to cut my hair and fight for ATEWA FOREST. Responsible mining is staying away from critical watersheds that serve 5 million people. Mr President, @nakufoaddo #DontMineAtewa #saveatewa @LeoDiCaprio @arochaghana” she tweeted.
Yvonne added: “Atewa Forest has just 18% of low grade bauxite. Let us secure it with green bonds not destroy it with mining #Waterfor5million #DontMineAtewa #SaveAtewaForest #ForNature #SDGs
