“It Is Stupid To Think That I Give Sex To Feature Top Male Artistes” – Sista Afia

Ghanaian singer and songwriter Sista Afia has expressed disappointment in people who think that every female artiste has to give sex to get top male artistes featured on their songs, describing such perception as very stupid.

Sista Afia in an interview on Showbiz Agenda on Zylofon 102.1 FM with Sammy Flex, said such thinking is becoming too much in our space and that it is total disrespect to female artistes.

“I don’t know why people think that anytime they see me in a male artiste’s camp then it means I’m sleeping with the person. Like I don’t understand. And it`s becoming too much. Some people make women look someway in that light. People don’t respect women in stuff like that and sometimes it`s funny. It`s not good. Because why will I work with a male artiste and automatically people will think that I slept with the person? Like how? It`s stupid to even think like that. Very stupid”.

“I work so hard. If I visit the camp of any of these top artistes whose names I just mentioned, I don’t go there with any song writer. I write my own songs. They see my hard work and that is how come they work with me. Because they know how good I am. You can’t compare me to a lot of people because most people have song writers and stuff like that. But me even though people write songs for me, I write 95% of my songs. So I don’t see why people have to think that I do something to get something. It`s nonsense. Maybe it`s because I have big boobs and big butts they think like that” she lamented.

When asked how she get to work with all these top artistes so easily, she said it is because of her hardwork and good luck on her side. “I think it`s both. My hard work and luck. I work so hard God knows I do and I have good luck. Because it`s hard for a female artiste to feature all these big artistes. My work with Stonebwoy is a surprise” she said.

She further attributed her making of hits songs to God and the good promotional plan her team comes up with in pushing her songs. “First of all I will say it`s God. We are just doing it because we love music. So what we do is to try as much as possible to promote our songs to get to the level we want it to go. WE have also met people we never thought we will ever work with. Talk of Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie so it was not something we planned but it has happened. These people are amazing people who have seen the work I am doing. These people will not just work with anybody” she stated.

Her new song ‘Party’ was produced by Willis Beatz and she has dropped visuals of the song on YouTube.
